Daniel Ríos has been named 2019 Speedway Soccer Most Valuable Player. Ríos received 38.6% of the fan vote and 100% of the Speedway vote to claim the award.
The first ever signing for Nashville's Major League Soccer squad, Daniel Ríos more than lived up to expectations. The first ever player in USL history with back-to-back 20 goal seasons, Ríos's finishing ability was a much needed improvement for Nashville. Lead the team with 21 goals (good for second in the Golden Boot race) and appearances, playing 2,648 minutes over 33 matches. Consistently one of the best players on the pitch, and showed plenty of potential to be a valuable member of the squad in MLS next season.
Others receiving votes: Matt Pickens (38.6% fan vote), Forrest Lasso (12.9% fan vote), Lebo Moloto (8.6% fan vote), Jimmy Ockford (0.7% fan vote), Connor Sparrow (0.7% fan vote).
Speedway Soccer's 2019 Awards Week will conclude with Goal of the Year announced Friday. Fans can vote for those awards at SpeedwaySoccer.com/2019-Awards.
