NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC announced Friday that defender Liam Doyle has left the club by mutual consent. Doyle, 27, had made 48 appearances in his two years with Nashville, and has started 15 of the club's 20 matches this season.
Doyle was part of a Swope Park Rangers squad that went to the USL Cup in 2017, losing to Louisville City FC in the final. He reunited with Mike Jacobs, the former technical director at Sporting KC and Swope Park, in Nashville, where he scored one goal and assisted two more.
With loanees Forrest Lasso and Jimmy Ockford appearing to be the first choice pairing at centerback, and Ken Tribbett returning from lengthy injury, the move gives Doyle and his pregnant wife the chance to sort out his future before the baby arrives. Speedway Soccer wishes Liam Doyle all the best going forward.
As first confirmed by Speedway Soccer, Liam Doyle has signed with Memphis 901 FC in the USL Championship.
