NEW YORK, NY - Nashville SC took part in their first ever official Major League Soccer event on Sunday afternoon, with CEO Ian Ayre and General Manager Mike Jacobs on hand for the MLS Expansion Priority Draft in New York. Ahead of MLS's final day of the 2019 regular season, representatives from expansion sides Nashville SC and Inter Miami CF flipped a coin to determine their ranking in the five roster building mechanisms available for expansion sides.
The list of players available for selection in the Expansion Draft will be made public on November 16, with the draft taking place on November 19. Both Nashville and Miami will have the option to select up to five players each from the rosters of other MLS sides (with DC United, Vancouver Whitecaps, Houston Dynamo, FC Dallas and New York Red Bulls all exempt).
Speedway Soccer spoke with Mike Jacobs and Ian Ayre after the priority draft and will release the interview on our podcast Monday evening.
