NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC will travel to Orlando on Wednesday, July 1, the club announced. NSC resumed full-team training two weeks ago and will play their first match of the #MLSisBack Tournament on July 8 against Chicago Fire.
Major League Soccer has created a strict set of protocols for players and staff in Orlando, but questions remain about the integrity of the "bubble", with hotel workers allowed to come and go. Since June 4, 18 players and six staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus. The Athletic's Sam Stejskal reported that multiple Orlando City players did not enter the bubble with the rest of their team last Thursday, despite the club denying any positive tests.
With more clubs beginning to arrive in Orlando while cases in Florida skyrocket, MLS's health protocols will be heavily scrutinized as the tournament draws near.
