Player Ratings: Nashville SC vs Swope Park Rangers

Nashville SC thrashed Swope Park Rangers 5-1 on Saturday. Below are our collective evaluations of each individual performance.

  • A rating of 6 denotes and average performance. Each player starts out with a 6 and their performance either adds or subtracts from that rating.

  • Scores are determined after rewatching the match and looking at the stats, and are the averaged total of each Speedway member's ratings.

  • Players must have been on the pitch for at least 10 minutes to receive a score. Players who come on later than the 80th minute are ineligible for a rating.

Matt Pickens - 7.5: Made three saves, but should have done better on Hernandez's goal.

Kosuke Kimura - 8.0: Did well in possession. Sat back more as Belmar provided width on the right and kept Swope Park in check.

Ken Tribbett - 8.0: Wasn't as good on the ball as usual, but limited SPR's effectiveness in Nashville's half. Almost scored with a header from close range.

Liam Doyle - 8.0: Solid with the ball at his feet and read the game well to limit Swope Park.

Justin Davis - 8.0: Pushed up really high on the left and put in some great service.

Matt LaGrassa - 8.5: Completed 93% of his passes, including a beautiful ball over the top for Belmar's goal. Came close to scoring one of his own, and the rebound led to Lancaster's goal.

Michael Reed © - 7.5: Completed 86% of his passes and tested Zendejas with a good shot from just outside the box.

Kharlton Belmar - 9.0: Finally got on the scoresheet with a goal and an assist. Dangerous all night, and looks like he's finally clicking with the other forwards.

Lebo Moloto - 8.0: Played in a central role, and moved the ball really well. Had a decent shot from just outside the box and created a couple chances.

Alan Winn - 8.5: Got his first start of the season and got a goal. Provided good width on the left, and linked well with Davis on the left.

Daniel Ríos - 9.5: Scored twice in the first 15 minutes and got the assist for Winn's goal. He's tied for second in the USL Golden Boot race.

Cameron Lancaster - 8.0: Replaced Ríos in the 62nd minute. Hit the post with a great shot from just inside the box, and scored his second of the season after Zendajas spilled LaGrassa's shot.

Ropapa Mensah - 7.5: Came on for Belmar in the 62nd minute and ran hard. Opened up space on the right and kept Swope Park's defense stretched.

Bolu Akinyode - 7.5: Replaced Reed after 72 minutes and locked down the result with his typically composed passing.

Gary Smith - 8.5: Switched to a more aggressive 4-2-3-1 formation and went after Swope Park. Even with the game virtually over after 16 minutes, he kept his team on the front foot and made aggressive substitutions. For all the concerns surrounding the team, he has them in 4th place with the second most goals scored in the East.
