Power Rankings Week 25

This method of ranking team performance factors in point per game, strength of schedule, and goal difference. This isn't an attempt to predict the final table, but rather a way to measure a team's form.

  1. NYRB II (↔): Solid week for the leaders. Beat Nashville 2-1 midweek before smashing Swope Park 5-1 on Saturday. They look in good shape for the playoffs.

  2. Tampa Bay Rowdies (↔): Beat Memphis 901 5-0 to keep pace with New York after losing to North Carolina midweek.

  3. Nashville SC (↔): Lost a frustrating match to New York before rebounding with a last minute winner over Charleston Battery.

  4. North Carolina FC (↔): Put in arguably their best performance of the year midweek, beating Tampa Bay 4-2, before losing 1-0 in Louisville. They're solidly in the top four.

  5. Indy Eleven (↔): Won 3-1 at home over Charlotte. With either three or four games in hand on every team ahead of them, they could easily move much higher.

  6. Pittsburgh Riverhounds (↔): Picked up a fairly predictable 1-0 win over Loudoun.

  7. Ottawa Fury FC (↔): Beat a 10 man Saint Louis 2-1 at home, but really struggled to break down a packed defense at times.

  8. Louisville City FC (↔): Really needed three points against North Carolina, and got them thanks to Magnus Rasmussen. They've started to separate themselves from the middle of the pack.

  9. Charleston Battery (↑1): Move up a spot after a close-fought 2-1 loss in Nashville. They'll be in a fight for the last couple playoff spots.

  10. Saint Louis FC (↓1): Drop a spot after a 2-1 loss in Ottawa. On current form, they'll miss the playoffs.

  11. Birmingham Legion FC (↑1): Up a spot after a 3-2 win in Bethlehem. With four goals in nine minutes and four red cards, that may have been the most entertaining match of the year.

  12. Charlotte Independence (↓1): Drop a spot after a 3-1 loss in Indy.

  13. Loudoun United FC (↑2): Came close to taking points from Pittsburgh, but couldn't avoid a 1-0 loss.

  14. Bethlehem Steel (↓1): Lost 3-2 in Birmingham. Seven points out of a playoff spot, it doesn't look good for Bethlehem.

  15. Memphis 901 FC (↓1): Lost 5-0 in Tampa. It would take a miracle for them to make the playoffs.

  16. Swope Park Rangers (↔): Smashed at home by New York.

  17. Atlanta United 2 (↔): Lost to Hartford and saw their best player sent off.

  18. Hartford Athletic (↔): Got a last minute winner over Atlanta, but too little too late at this point.

  1. Phoenix Rising FC (↔): Became the only American team to win 15 straight this weekend. This team is good.

  2. Fresno FC (↔): Left it late, but picked up three points at home against Colorado Springs.

  3. Reno 1868 FC (↔): No match this week.

  4. San Antonio FC (↑3): Took advantage of an early red card to beat New Mexico 5-0.

  5. Sacramento Republic FC (↓1): Drop a spot (although their score actually increased) after a 2-1 loss in Phoenix.

  6. Real Monarchs SLC (↓1): Beaten 3-1 on the road by Orange County.

  7. Orange County SC (↑4): Dominated in a 3-1 home win over Real Monarchs.

  8. New Mexico United (↓2): The drop continues with a 5-0 loss in San Antonio.

  9. Portland Timbers 2 (↓1): Lost in Las Vegas.

  10. OKC Energy (↑2): Beat Austin 4-2 to move up a spot.

  11. El Paso Locomotive FC (↓1): Lost on the road to RGV Toros.

  12. Austin Bold FC (↓3): A 4-2 loss in Oklahoma City sends them down three spots.

  13. LA Galaxy II (↔): No match this week.

  14. Las Vegas Lights FC (↑1): Won at home over Portland.

  15. Rio Grande Valley FC (↓1): Got a needed 1-0 win over El Paso. Their drop is because of results around them in the rankings.

  16. Tulsa Roughnecks FC (↔): No match this week.

  17. CS Switchbacks FC (↔): Lost in Fresno.

  18. Tacoma Defiance (↔): No match this week.
