Power Rankings Week 30

This method of ranking team performance factors in point per game, strength of schedule, and goal difference. This isn't an attempt to predict the final table, but rather a way to measure a team's form over the course of the season.

  1. NYRB II (↔): Held to a draw by Charleston, and nearly overtaken by Tampa Bay in the rankings. The top 4 are incredibly tight.

  2. Tampa Bay Rowdies (↔): Down 2-0 on the road in the 87th minute, Tampa Bay clawed their way back to a 2-2 draw with Louisville City.

  3. Pittsburgh Riverhounds (↑1): Beat Memphis midweek before steamrolling Indy Eleven 3-0, thanks to three of the best goals in USL Championship so far this season. Just one point out of first with a game in hand, they could well end up winning the conference.

  4. Nashville SC (↓1): In first place for the first time in club history, winning 2-0 in Loudoun. With matches against Louisville City and North Carolina on the horizon, they'll be hard pressed to hold onto the top spot.

  5. Indy Eleven (↔): Went to Pittsburgh and were soundly beaten by the Riverhounds after losing midweek at home to Atlanta. With a very congested schedule to close out the season, it's not a shock to see dropped results. They'll have a fight to hold onto a home playoff spot, and recent results certainly are worrying.

  6. North Carolina FC (↔): Dispatched Ottawa easily, winning 3-1 at home.

  7. Louisville City FC (↔): A 2-0 win over Tampa Bay would have pushed them into 5th, but they gave away two goals in the final three minutes to drop vital points at home. They're still one of the hottest sides in the conference.

  8. Ottawa Fury FC (↔): Went to North Carolina and left with a 3-1 loss.

  9. Saint Louis FC (↔): Really needed points to give them some space in the playoff race, but were held to a draw at home by a poor Atlanta side. Birmingham, Charleston and even Memphis could challenge them.

  10. Charleston Battery (↔): Put in a solid performance on the road to take a draw from New York, equalizing in the 96th minute.

  11. Birmingham Legion FC (↔): No match this week.

  12. Memphis 901 FC (↑1): Lost at home to Pittsburgh midweek, but move up to 12th after a massive 5-0 home win over Bethlehem Steel. It would be a long shot, but they still have a shot at the playoffs.

  13. Charlotte Independence (↑1): Beat a hapless Hartford side 4-0 at home.

  14. Loudoun United FC (↑1): Won 4-1 over Swope Park midweek before losing 2-0 to a Nashville side that simply had more quality. The fact that they're starting 15 and 16 year olds and are still competitive with one of the elite sides in the conference bodes well for the future.

  15. Bethlehem Steel (↓3): Beaten 5-0 on the road in Memphis. That pretty much says it all.

  16. Swope Park Rangers (↔): Beaten 4-1 in Loudoun midweek.

  17. Atlanta United 2 (↑1): Picked up a win over Indy Eleven and a draw in Saint Louis. If they'd played like this earlier in the year they could have challenged for a playoff spot.

  18. Hartford Athletic (↓1): Played like a side who had been out of the playoff race all season, losing 4-0 to Charlotte.

  1. Phoenix Rising FC (↔): Came back for a 2-2 draw by New Mexico. Still miles ahead of everyone else in the conference.

  2. Reno 1868 FC (↔): Gave up a 1-0 lead to lose at home to Real Monarchs.

  3. Fresno FC (↔): Had a chance to pass Reno for the second spot, but lost 2-1 on the road to San Antonio.

  4. Sacramento Republic FC (↔): Barely hang onto fourth after falling to a stoppage time winner from El Paso.

  5. Real Monarchs SLC (↔): Came back from behind to win on the road in Reno.

  6. San Antonio FC (↑1): Lost a 4-3 thriller midweek to Tulsa before rebounding with a solid win over Fresno.

  7. Orange County SC (↓1): After a run of good form, they dropped a 2-0 loss to RGV Toros and lost Michael Orozco to a stoppage time red card.

  8. New Mexico United (↑1): A couple minutes from a massive win over Phoenix, but gave up a 90th minute equalizer.

  9. LA Galaxy II (↑3): Crushed OKC Energy 5-1 at home. They're looking likely to finish in a playoff position.

  10. Austin Bold FC (↓2): Picked up a huge win in Portland, but were overtaken by LA and New Mexico.

  11. El Paso Locomotive FC (↔): Got a huge win in Sacramento. Holding onto one of the final playoff spots.

  12. Portland Timbers 2 (↓2): After looking like one of the better sides in the conference early in the year, they've dropped off considerably. Lost to Austin on Sunday.

  13. OKC Energy (↔): Crushed 5-1 by LA Galaxy II. Three points out of a playoff spot, and they'll need help from others to get in.

  14. Las Vegas Lights FC (↔): Beat a really poor Colorado side 3-1.

  15. Rio Grande Valley FC (↔): Playing spoiler a bit at this point, beating Orange County 2-0 at home.

  16. Tulsa Roughnecks FC (↔): Beat San Antonio midweek before conceding late to draw with Tacoma.

  17. CS Switchbacks FC (↔): Lost 3-1 at home to Las Vegas.

  18. Tacoma Defiance (↔): Fought back for an 86th minute equalizer to take points off of Tulsa.
